So why then should we worship YHWH? And what is the Creators' name? To fast forward to the point when I started to believe that the Most High's name was YHWH we have to come to 2014. While surfing the internet I discovered a bible entitled the Hebraic Roots Bible. The website where I found it was called The Congregation of YHWH, Jerusalem.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Father's name YHWH and His Son's name, Yahshua, were used instead of the LORD and Jesus Christ. The translator explained that in the original scriptures the word that is used for the LORD in the King James Version is HWHY pronounced YHWH. Also the word used to translate Jesus is Yahshua.
So I was beginning to get some proof as to why the name YHWH was the name inspired by the Almighty, and which He wanted us to use to address Him or refer to Him as. So I started to read the scriptures and discovered that the name YHWH was used over 6,800 times in the Old Testament and translated as Jehovah, LORD or God in the King James version and almost every other version for that matter.
I also discovered that the name was in bibles up to the second century BC. At this point the Jews decided that the heavenly Father's name was too sacred for everyone to use and they banned the use of the name YHWH by almost all people making it an offence to use the name except if you had permission by the authorities.
So from that time the sacred name YHWH was not used in translations of the Holy Scriptures. Instead words such as Adonai, LORD and God were substituted in its place. So in effect what has happened is the name which the scriptures say we should praise, glorify, magnify, bless and pray to has been nullified. The third commandment states that we should not take the name of YHWH in vain. And that means we should not nullify, falsify, change or make void, His name, in order to keep this commandment. But what they have done is to inadvertently do this same thing by not using the name at all.
But let us look at it in a simplistic form. What is a name? If I am to ask anyone what is their name they would immediately respond with a word be it John, Mary, or Juanita. If we were to put that question to the Most High, what will He say? That question was put to Him in Exodus 3:15 and this is what He said, "YHWH, the Elohe of your fathers, the Elohe of Abraham, the Elohe of Isaac, and the Elohe of Jacob, ................................ This is My name forever, and this is how I should be remembered from generation to generation". He said YHWH is His name forever and this is how He should be remembered from generation to generation.
So the Most High Himself said it, this is how He wants to be called. So why must we now decide what we want to call Him. How rude and disrespectful. If someone wants to call me by a name that is not my own I will quickly tell them don't call me that. So the same applies to YHWH our Heavenly Father. The other so-called names given to the Almighty such as El Shaddai, El Elyon or Elohim were titles and not names. He has one personal name YHWH.
When considering the name of the Father's Son we discover that His name could not have been Jesus because there was no letter 'J' in any language before 600 years ago.The same applies to Jehovah. These are the facts ladies and gentlemen. Throughout the Old Testament the writers spoke about our salvation. The word used for salvation in Hebrew was Y'shua. In the new testament the word used for the Son of YHWH is Yahshua meaning YHWH's Salvation and not just Salvation.
Some might say why should we fuss about the pronouciation of His name and He knows if we are calling upon Him in truth. But then the scripture says in Acts 4:12 That there is salvation in no other name but YAHSHUA. In Hebrew names have functional meanings Yahshua means YHWH'S Salvation or YHWH saves this is the function. Jesus' meaning has nothing to do with salvation, research it yourself. The fact that names are not translated into other languages and they are transliterated is another proof that the name could not be Jesus because Jesus sounds nothing like Yahshua.
Jesus is a transliteration of a transliteration of a transliteration. Which only amounts to confusion. If there is salvation in no other name then it can only be one name. And that name is Yahshua.
In the next post we will discuss more on the Father's name in scripture.
